4th International Sufi Festival unfolds ISFI Awards with paintings and music

The curtain raiser for the 4th International Sufi Festival India was held at Al Ikhlas Museum and Gallery, Ajmer.

Chief Guest Dewan & Head of Ajmer Sharif Dargah Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan inaugurated the event.

Gulsha begum festival director & Chairperson Kamaluddin Charitable Trust said the event was to seek the blessing of the revered Sufi saint of Ajmer shariff dargah as a tradition before the festival travelled in December to New Delhi

The event was followed by Sufi Painting exhibition and a award ceremony.

ISFI Award for Sufi Painting was awarded to renowned Artist Vijay Singh Chouhan for his work on Mughal art.

ISFI Award for Music was awarded to Zakir Ali Zakki Ali for their contribution from generation towards the Traditional Chishtiya Qawwali.

The musical concert began with the soulful sufiana kalaam on sitar by Sitar Maestro Dr sudeep Rai
(Disciple of Padmabhushan Pt.Debu Chaudhuri)

Followed by the kalaams of Hazrat Amir Khusrau in mesmerizing voice of Vaishali Rai made the audience swing with chaap tilak and Rang and damadam mast kalandar.

Kathak Exponent Manisha gulyani took the audience into a whirling experience with her mind blowing performance

The Traditional Chishtiya Sufi Ensemble of Zakir and Zakki Ali took the audience into a trance of divine music

The gala International Sufi Festival curtain raiser event was attended by music loving audience including Shri.Kamlendra Jha the chief patron of Kala Ankur Ackademy, Mr.Ajay Vikram Singh ( Former defence Secretery Govt.of India)Noted author Shri.Bakshish Singh,Smt.Ragini Chaturvedi and many others.

The 4th International Sufi Festival presented by Kamaluddin Charitable Trust with Marwah Studios will take place at Film City Noida on the 16th,17th and 18th of December 2014.
